Preferences (Poll)

I like to read reviews. It gives me awesome feedback on what readers think works well...and what didn't work for them. I always take this feedback into consideration when it comes to writing my current work in progress. Sometimes I get conflicting feedback and it's hard to know what to do with that. So...poll time!!!

Some love 'em some love triangles (I know I do, that's why I wrote one!) while others hate it. Some think too much action, some think not enough. The reviews I have received so far regarding the romance in Ignited have been positive. Most seem to prefer the slow burn type of romance that develops between Kris and Nathan. I've read enough books, and read enough reviews of other authors' works, to know that most readers are turned off by what they call 'Insta-love' romances. I prided myself in knowing that my two MCs did not have an Insta-love connection. I figured that since ista-love doesn't happen in the real world, it shouldn't happen in my books.

Interestingly enough, I recently got a review that complained about the slow progression of the romance. That the reader knew it was going to happen, so "get to it already" I believe is an exact quote. So...now I'm confused. Granted, this is the only review that mentioned not liking the romance. But I have to ask now...what do you all prefer? A "get to it already" romance or a slow burn romance? Or maybe it depends on the context?

I want to know what my readers like (and dislike) so please take a minute to answer below. Or add your own answer!

Salvaged Soul Delay

Many of you have been asking when Salvaged Soul will be released. I want to let you all know that it's coming...just a lot later than I had originally planned on (and what a lot of you hoped for!)  Sacrificed was released almost a year ago, and since then many, many things have happened in my personal life. Mostly good things...but things that have gotten in the way of writing.

I found out I was due to have twins in October. That was a shocker that put into motion a whole lot of other events...like quitting my previous job, my husband getting a new job, and then selling our home and moving! All of that on top of the demands of a high risk pregnancy, constant travel to the doctor's for visits and more ultrasounds to count, and then finally the birth of my gorgeous boys in October have slowed the process of getting Salvaged Soul done when I had wanted to.

And now...I have twin boys that don't exactly like to sleep! I get about twenty minutes of writing done at a time before someone decides to cut their nap short. That is just enough time to get my head into the plot before I must stop again. Over and over. So needless to say, it's coming along slowly.

I recall not getting much writing done before until my son (now 5) was almost 2. However, I also had a day job at that time, which I no longer have. I am devoted entirely to my boys...and my writing. So it's coming everybody! I promise!

I just can't tell you exactly when.
